Meet Our Experienced Cosmetic Dentist: Dr. Kevin Otteson
Dr. Kevin Otteson is the heart of Otteson Family & Cosmetic Dentistry. It is his dedication to the dental needs of you and your whole family that makes our Chandler dental practice both technologically advanced and family friendly.
Since Dr. Otteson began practicing dentistry in 1986, he has continued his dental education, which has allowed him to specialize in family and cosmetic dentistry. His education and experience enables Dr. Otteson to serve the dental needs of your entire family, from pediatric dental care to dental implants.
Family Connection to Patient Care
Kevin Otteson, DMD was born in Portland, Oregon. The second oldest of four siblings, Dr. Otteson followed in the footsteps of his father and older brother, both of whom are practicing dentists.
From an early age, our (future) cosmetic dentist began to understand the importance of treating people with care and respect. His dedication to a high level of patient care has only grown stronger over the years.
Education: Constantly Learning
Education and learning experiences have always been important to Dr. Otteson. In 1986, he obtained his doctorate from Washington University School of Dental Medicine. Since then, he has completed additional dental training at Pacific Aesthetic Continuum, the nation's premiere, hands-on live patient continuing education program in San Francisco, California.
In addition to his extensive education (as noted below), Dr. Otteson is a published author and public lecturer.
Undergraduate and Doctorate Education
Dr. Kevin Otteson's formal education included:
• 1977, 1979-82: Attended Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah
• 1977-1979: Completed Latter Day Saints (LDS) mission to Japan
• 1982: Received Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from BYU
• 1982-1986: Attended Washington University School of Dental Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri
• 1986: Received Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Washington University
Continuing Dental Education
To ensure that he offers his patients the most beneficial dental treatments, Dr. Otteson has continued his dental education. He makes is a point to attend over 100 hours of continuing education per year. Some of his achievements in continuing education include:
• 2000: Pacific Aesthetic Continuum (PAC Live) graduate
• 2002: PAC Live graduate
• 2002-2003: PAC Live Occlusion Graduate
• 2007-2009: Gordon Christensen two-year Mentorship Program
• 2007: Laser Periodontal Therapy License
• 2008: Graduate of the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry
During his continuing education, Dr. Otteson also became proficient in four wavelengths of dental lasers, allowing him to utilize advanced dental technology for his patients.

Knowing that not all knowledge comes from the classroom, Dr. Otteson also supplements his knowledge as a cosmetic and family dentist by holding numerous professional memberships. He is a member of:

Taking an Active Role
For Dr. Otteson, there is more to serving his Chandler community than being a leading cosmetic and family dentist. To better support the area residence, Dr. Otteson is very active in both church and community organizations.
Dr. Otteson also enjoys utilizing the local area to keep himself healthy. He is very active in:
